Mondays, 10 – 11 30am at St John’s Church
Little Fishes is a friendly and welcoming toddler group for pre-school age children and their carers. The chairs are cleared from the church to make room for a large selection of toys including tunnels, ride-ons, home corner and shop, books and puzzles, block-building and tools, road, track and vehicles, playdough and a soft area for babies. We spend the first 50 minutes chatting and playing in this area, where a supervised craft activity is also run by one of our helpers. Then we spend the next 20 mins – half hour at the other end of the church, at tables or on the floor, for our Praise Time where we sing and play instruments, pray and hear a short thought from the Bible, which is often involves opportunity for participation from children and adults alike. We finish the session with refreshments, including hot and cold drinks and delicious home-made cakes.
We’re here every Monday during term-time. If you like the sound of this, do come along and give it a try. There’s no need to book, just turn up – we’d love to meet you!
Mondays, 3.30 – 4.45pm at St John’s Church
Searchlights is our free after school club for children at Primary School. We pack the time with various fun activities that link in some way to the Bible passage we’ll be thinking about. We start with a quick-fire game or activity that children can just join in with as they arrive. Then we have a couple more games that introduce the main theme of the session before we move up to the seated area for our Bible time.
Bible time is always interactive, with dressing up, or sharing thoughts and ideas, or acting as different characters for those that want to. After our prayer, we move on to the craft activity that always helps us remember what we’ve heard from the Bible that day. We finish with an active game, either altogether or in smaller teams.
If you have a child that might be interested, please do come along and give us a try, you can ring ahead so we’re expecting you, or just turn up – we’d love to see you!
First Sunday of each month, 4pm at St John’s Church
TeaTime Church is a relaxed and interactive, all-age service for children and families. We begin with half an hour of crafts and activities that allow a good opportunity to chat for those who prefer this, and lots of chances to move around for those that have more energy! The craft activities relate to whatever it is we’ll be thinking about during our Bible Bit.
The Bible Bit follows the crafts and activities. We sing songs and play instruments, say some short prayers together, and hear something from the Bible, which always requires help from those that are willing to give it!
We finish our time together with a cold buffet tea, which gives more time to chat and catch up. Please just turn up and visit us if you’re interested, you’ll be made really welcome!
